How we handle your privacy
Last updated . The short version: we run a light-touch analytics setup, we ask before we measure, and we never sell anything about you.
The one tool we actually use
The NAD Review leans on a single measurement tool: Google Analytics 4. When — and only when — you allow it, GA4 collects anonymized signals about how the site gets used: which pages you read, a coarse approximate location derived from your IP address (the full IP is not stored), your device and browser type, and the site or search that referred you. We don't ask you to make an account, and we don't collect names, emails, or payment details through ordinary browsing.
Consent comes before measurement
We run Google Consent Mode v2, and it starts in the off position. Until you accept through our cookie banner, both analytics storage and any advertising storage sit at denied by default — no analytics cookies are written and no tracking fires. Decline, and that denied state simply stays put. Accept, and GA4 begins gathering the anonymized signals described above.
Where your choice lives
Your decision is remembered on your device, not ours. We store it in your browser's localStorage under a key named cookie-consent. If you accept, GA4 may then set its own cookies to tell one visit from the next. None of this leaves your browser until consent is given.
What we do with any of it
The handful of signals we gather serve one purpose: understanding what's useful so we can write and organize the site better — which reviews land, where readers get stuck, whether a new guide is being found. That's the whole ambition. We do not sell your personal data, and we don't trade or rent it either.
Google's part in this
Because GA4 is a Google product, Google processes this analytics data as a third party under its own terms and privacy policy. Their handling of the data is governed by Google, not by us; we simply configure the tool and read the aggregate reports it produces.
Your say over your data
You're in control here. You can opt out at any time by declining the banner or withdrawing consent, and you can reset your choice to be asked again by clearing this site's data — or by deleting the cookie-consent entry from localStorage — and reloading the page. If you'd like to know what, if anything, we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email hi@thenadreview.com and we'll take care of it.
Not built for kids
The NAD Review is written for adults and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and certainly not from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, let us know and we'll delete it.
How long we keep things
We hold analytics data only as long as it's useful for the purposes above, in line with GA4's standard retention settings, after which it ages out automatically. Your on-device consent flag stays until you clear it.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over encrypted connections, and because we deliberately collect so little, there's not much to expose. That said, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute protection against every possible risk.
